On behalf of the Smith College Nordic Network, we are thrilled to invite you to Copenhagen, Denmark!

General Information

After a superb reunion in 2024 in Paris, France, we now invite you to travel to Northern Europe, where we will stimulate your brain, delight your taste buds, and invigorate both old and new connections with fellow Smith and Diploma alums from around the world. The first Smith in Europe (SiE) weekend reunion took place in Lucerne, Switzerland, in October 1980. Organized by alums for alums, the Smith in Europe network has inspired other regional biennial meetings worldwide. Recently, a wonderful Smith in Asia Reunion was held in Dubai in October 2025. Now, after 40 plus years, we are back in Denmark, in Northern Europe.

Thank you for responding to the survey—your input helped shape the program for this three-day reunion from Thursday evening through early Sunday afternoon. Traditionally, the reunion includes an opening meeting, several group activities, a dinner, and a closing meeting. The weekend is entirely self-financed; registration fees must cover 100% of the costs, as organizers are unable to subsidize expenses out of pocket.

The program will feature guest speakers, plenty of time to relax and connect, opportunities to explore the city, and—of course—excellent food. As a fun historical note, we will be staying at the same hotel that hosted the second SiE reunion in 1982. It feels fitting to return to the Admiral Hotel, which has recently been renovated. However you are welcome to stay wherever you prefer.

Well in advance of the event, participants will receive a detailed information booklet (PDF via email) containing practical information, the finalized program, suggestions for independent activities, and optional cultural experiences. We will also create a WhatsApp group and continue to use the existing SiE Facebook group. In keeping with Denmark’s commitment to renewable energy and environmental responsibility, all information will be delivered electronically and accessible via QR code.

Bursaries are available for registered Smith alums upon request and are handled with complete confidentiality.
